1. I spent the first three months of 2011 with a stomach ulcer. For 100 days straight, I didn’t drink any alcohol, caffeine, or carbonated drinks. I didn’t eat any pizza or chocolate. I couldn’t eat anything. It was extremely difficult, but boy, did I save a lot of money by not going to bars, and damn, I looked the most fit I had ever been in my entire life.

2. I got a huge scar on my left calf from riding on the back of a motorcycle with a dress on, like a stupid girly idiot. The exhaust pipe burnt my leg as I tried to dismount. It was painful. The scar is ugly.

3. 2011 was the year I finally made friends. Lots of funny, amazing friends.

4. 2011 was when I fell in love with improv.

5. 2011 was when I got into Twitter.

6. My brother got married and my whole family - my mom, my two brothers, and my nephew - were all together for the first time in five years.

7. I got really into making smoothies.

8. Thank goodness for Breaking Bad, Parks and Recreation, Attack the Block, and Harry Potter.

9. Favorite guilty pleasure: Jersey Shore.

10. Martha Marcy May Marlene messed me up for three days straight.

11. My idols wrote books, and they were inspiring - Tina Fey’s Bossypants and Mindy Kaling’s Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? 

12. My friend Angelina gave me her old iPhone and it changed my life. She also took me to see Prince and it changed my life.
